Fr. Warren Rouse, O.F.M. Assistant Director

Fr. Warren J. Rouse has been a Franciscan Priest for over 50 years. He holds advanced degrees in music and liturgical studies. From 1983 to 1994 he was a pastor and then rector of St. Mary’s Basilica in Phoenix. During this time, he was instrumental in obtaining the status of basilica from Pope John Paul II. Fr. Warren was director of Serra Retreat for 12 years, and remains in residence here as he continues his writing, which he has been doing for over 30 years. His latest work is Words of Wisdom: A Collection of Inspirational Messages. It is such a blessing to continue to have Fr. Warren at Serra Retreat. He surely blesses us each day with his delightful sense of humor!

Tom Anderson, Administrator

Originally from Massachusetts, he connected with the Franciscan Friars of California while attending a Lenten Mission retreat at his parish.  At the time, he was Director of Catering Sales at a Radisson Hotel in the Boston area.  He left that job to volunteer for one year at Old Mission San Luis Rey as part of the Franciscan Covenant Program.  During that year of living, working and praying with the friars, he felt called to join the Franciscan Friars and studied with them for a number of years. Tom eventually returned to the hospitality business back in New England yet while working at a Hyatt Place hotel, was approached by the friars to help at one of their retreat centers. Tom has helped run the retreat centers in San Juan Bautista, Danville and is now at Serra Retreat in Malibu.  God is good and we are sure blessed to have him here!

Jenny Agripino, Reservations Manager

Jenny Agripino is our reservations manager. She has been at Serra Retreat for 6 years. She started when she was just 19 at the bookstore, and 4 years ago became the reservations manager. She is the one responsible for scheduling and coordinating all of the amazing groups that choose to hold meetings, conferences, and retreats on this Malibu Hill. Jenny’s experience and knowledge of the retreat center, and her friendly demeanor towards our retreatants make her such a valuable and esteemed person here at Serra Retreat.

From office staff to cooks, from the gardeners to the friars that work and reside here, we feel privileged and delighted to work with you and for you. To all of the amazing groups and retreatants that come visit and retreat on these grounds, Serra Retreat would not be the place it is without you. We thank you for your continuous presence, support, and prayers. Rest assured that you all remain in ours.

God Bless.
